KPOP GUIDE 101: TIPS IF YOU’RE PLANNING TO ATTEND KPOP CONCERTS PART 1

Monday, September 19, 2016

Hello Readers!

Today I’m going to share some tips if you’re planning to attend a kpop concert; this is very helpful especially to those who will attend for the first time.

I’ve attended several concerts of my favorite Kpop group. First is 2NE1 ALL OR NOTHING TOUR IN MANILA (If you are interested about my 2NE1 ALL OR NOTHING TOUR CONCERT EXPERIENCE you can check it here), followed by EPIK HIGH IN MANILA then BIGBANG MADE CONCERT TOUR IN MANILA. I’ve been a huge fan of YG Artists, well who doesn’t love YG’s artists’ right? They are full of swag and charisma and they are multi-talented; one of my goals is to attend every YG Artist concert here in the Philippines. I’ve learned a lot from my kpop concert experiences; and as there will be many kpop groups who’s on the line up to have a concert this year in this warm country and of course many kpop groups who will come in the next few years either in this country or to your country you might want to get yourself ready by reading some helpful information for you to be guided.

So here are my tips if you’re planning to attend a kpop concert

Months before the concert:

1   1. ASK PERMISSION TO YOUR PARENTS

This is very important especially to those who live in far places and also to those still minor. Ask permission to your parents that you will going to attend a kpop concert, ask them nicely and make sure that they are in good mood when you tell them so that there’s a high chance that they will permit you. Just in case they will not, do not get mad at them and try asking them in the next few days.

2   2. SAVE

You need to save money to be able for you to buy your preferred concert ticket, official merchandises and also for your travel expenses. But if you’re parents will give you money then you’re very lucky! But even though your parents will give you money, I still suggest to save little as during the concert there will be many booth who sells merchandises and you don’t want to just stay still watching those fans who bought, right?

3   3. INVITE YOUR KPOP FRIENDS

Just in case your kpop friends did not know yet about the concert, inform them and ask to attend together; it is always FUN to attend a concert with your kpop friends. But make sure that your friends will also ask permission to their parents.

4   4. BUY YOUR CONCERT TICKET

In other country like Japan and Korea during the first hour of selling, concert tickets are already sold out so you must be updated all the time when and what time will be the ticket selling so that you can buy your preferred ticket; buying a ticket is also a competition. If you are not able to buy a concert ticket, don’t be sad and think positive, there are other ways to buy a ticket. There are fans who sometimes sell their ticket in the same price because they bought many so you can buy it instead, you can also visit the homepage, reservation of tickets usually up to 24 to 48 hours and if there are people who was not able to pay, then the tickets they reserved are open to purchase.

5   5. CHECK FOR UPDATES

Subscribe and follow blogs and websites that officially handles’ the concert in your country or official fan pages in your country. Here in Philippines, as far as I know there are kpop gathering’s that gives concert tickets to fans through a raffle, dance or singing contest and other on the spot contests. Lucky fans who win receive either concert tickets and/or press conference passes.

6.    6.  BOOK YOUR PLANE TICKET

This is for fans that live from very far places or across other country. Here in Philippines kpop concerts are usually in Manila that’s in Luzon; so fans like me who live in Mindanao or Visayas need to travel via plane. I suggest following airline company’s official websites and social accounts for special plane ticket promotions, in that way you can book a very cheap plane tickets either one way or round trip.

7 .  7.  LOOK FOR A PLACE TO STAY

This is again for fans that live from very far places or across the country. If you are specially visiting a new place or a country for a concert and you don’t know anyone who lives around the place, you need to look online for good places for you to stay, unless if you plan to just go the day of the concert and leaves after the concert then that won’t be a problem, but if you want to stay more and tour yourself around the next day then research for good places and book your room ahead of time. I suggest choosing those places that’s only around the corner of where the concert will take place to keep away from traffic.

8    8. PREPARE YOUR PROPS

That means your light stick, banner and other stuffs. I suggest to buy your light stick ahead of time since there will be many fans that will be on the line to buy light sticks during the concert day and also for you to save the box of your light stick. If you are also planning to buy a new camera or extra memory card, buy it very ahead of time also.

So these are the things you need to prepare very ahead of time. If you have questions please leave a comment and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

    1. I usually stay at Sea Residences Condominium, it's in Pasay City since concerts are usually held in Mall of Asia Arena (you can check the place on this site http://www.smdc.com/sea-residences.html). I'm also staying in the house of my friend's uncle in Quezon if the concert's venue is just around the corner. I always prefer to stay in places near the venue to avoid traffic.
